After taking a million pictures of my kids with my phone, I realized I had quantity in my family photo collection with zero quality. Our family of six had never had professional photos taken, and we weren’t quite sure a ‘photo-shoot’ really fit our family’s style. However, we knew Ginny’s reputation for bringing out the best in people, so we decided to go for it. In short, the photographs she produced blew our minds. We invited Ginny to photograph grandparents day, a beloved tradition on our campus. The role had been filled by various other photographers previously, but Ginny’s work was remarkable. All day I had faculty seeking me out to share what they had observed while Ginny worked with our families: finding the perfect lighting on a sunny day, posing family members together, but then ultimately spending enough time with each group to create truly magical moments of joy. Ginny Kemp has an undeniable gift. She is able to catch my children exactly as they are—shy, devilish, sweet, joyful.  She makes everyone feel comfortable being themselves, even the most camera-shy.
